The Torquay Marine Rescue Service (TMRS) is a volunteer organisation located at Fisherman’s Beach on the Surfcoast in Victoria, Australia.

TMRS was founded on the 1st of October 1984 by local residents, and has since developed a reputation as a very competent and professional rescue service. This reputation is a testament to the volunteers who dedicate their time to the rescue service as well as those who support the organisation including partners and sponsors.

TMRS works closely with the neighboring Surfcoast Marine Rescue Services, as well as the Victoria Police and the Rescue Helicopter Service. TMRS is overseen by the Victoria Police Rescue Coordination Center whichlocated at Williamstown Victoria.

TMRS is primarily focused on ocean rescue of persons and/or vessels which include:

  • Fishing boats
  • Yachts
  • Windsurfers / Kitesurfers
  • Surfers
  • Swimmers
  • Canoe / Kayak

TMRS is also involved in a safety capacity in community events such as the Danger 1000 Swim Race, Anaconda Race, Dragon Boat Race, Villawood Properties Great Ocean Road Paddle Race as well as other local events.

TMRS operates from Port Phillip Heads to Lorne and 15 nautical miles to sea.
